Linus Fermin, blogging from Cannes, wrote, “I’ll see Michael Jackson in
Hell” and I’m sure he will… along with Elvis Presley the drug addict, James
Brown the wife beater and many others.
During the late 80’s I worked for Motown Production in Los Angeles for President Suzanne de Passe. I was her Executive Creative Assistant and at that time De Passe was the most powerful African-American woman in Hollywood. She’d discovered the Jackson Five and produced the Emmy award-winning “Motown 25”, where Jackson moonwalked to Billie Jean. Suzanne and Michael Jackson were close friends and as her Assistant, I was in charge of her address book and sometimes had to dial Michael’s private number, very private number or very, very private number. At the time, I thought the need for that layered privacy was very, very revealing. “Smooth Criminal” comes to mind.
